Privacy Policy

How Quire handles setup, license, and book transfer data.

Quire is a setup website and Android reader environment. This policy explains what information is collected, why it is used, and how to contact us about privacy requests.

Controller

Quire is operated by Marius Lindenmeier, Germany. For privacy questions or data requests, contact support@readwithquire.com.

Effective date: July 10, 2026.

Information we collect

Setup and license data

Quire creates a random setup ID in your browser and stores the license status needed to complete one device conversion. If you contact support, we may also receive your email address and order details.

Reader setup data

During setup, Quire reads basic Android device information such as manufacturer, model, Android version, setup state, and whether the phone is ready for dedicated reader mode.

Book files

Book Drop copies EPUB and PDF files directly from your browser to the connected reader over USB. Quire does not upload or store the contents of those book files.

Payment data

Purchases are handled by Lemon Squeezy. Quire receives order and license identifiers needed to activate the device license, but payment card details are handled by Lemon Squeezy.

Why we use data

  • To provide the phone check, guided Android setup, conversion, recovery, and restore flows.
  • To activate one purchased license for one converted device.
  • To transfer EPUB and PDF files directly over USB through Book Drop.
  • To verify paid licenses, prevent abuse, process support requests, and keep the service secure.

Processors and recipients

  • Firebase and Google Cloud for hosting, authentication where used, the Quire setup API, and license or device records.
  • Lemon Squeezy for checkout, payment processing, fraud prevention, taxes, invoices, and license handoff.

These services may process data in countries outside your country of residence. We use them to operate Quire and rely on their contractual, technical, and legal safeguards.

Retention

License and converted-device records are kept while the license or reader is active and as needed for purchase support, fraud prevention, and legal obligations. Temporary setup codes expire quickly. Quire does not retain the contents of books transferred through Book Drop.

Your choices and rights

  • You can restore normal Android from the converted reader.
  • You can request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection by emailing us.
  • You may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Children

Quire is intended for adults who own or administer the device being converted. A parent or guardian should manage setup and account access for children.
